Larks Justin truly can do it all. He was started in reining and as a working cow horse won the AQHA Open Versatility Ranch Horse Championship in 2004. Then in 2005, his owner, Bev Funk, turned him toward the English disciplines, where he has excelled in hunters, jumpers, dressage, and eventing.

Cherie Gaebel, his rider, said, "I have decided that I must have done something very special in a past life to deserve the ride on this horse!"

Justin's quiet rideability, correct conformation and consistent jumping style have won him ribbons in the hunter ring. His athletic ability and work ethic have made him a standout in the jumpers, culminating with a win in the Ludwig's Corner Horse Show Jumper Classic 2007 against 27 other horses, all larger than his 15.2 hands.

In 2008, Justin demonstrated his versatility yet again. He competed in the hunters at the Devon Horse Show,and he showed 3rd level dressage. In addition to these accomplishments, he took reserve champion in the open jumping at the All American Quarter Horse Congress national show.

His heart,drive and willingness to always try what is asked of him have made him the only quarter horse stallion eventing in the United States. He has qualified for a CCI*, earning ribbons consistently at the Preliminary level and is currently Grade 3 with the USEA. His big stride and correct movement never fail to get attention from the dressage judges, who frequently ask "what is he?" "We very proudly represent the AQHA in the sport of eventing," Gaebel said.

A grandson to Rugged Lark, known for his versatility and athleticism, his pedigree also draws attention. Justin's sire Majestic Justice is an AQHA Champion Sire and ROM Performance Sire, known for passing along a wonderful temperament. Justin's offspring have his friendly 'I can sleep at the foot of your bed' attitude and his athletic stature. It will be fun to observe their capabilities as training progresses.
